Lifestyle modifications
- I haven't been weight bearing at all and I'm slowly getting used to not using my right leg.
- I've been using my newly bought crutches to move in and around the house.
- However I found out that hopping around with one leg inside the house was much more convenient than using crutches.
- I use 1 pillow to elevate my right foot when I'm sleeping as this decreases the pain and swelling.
- I stayed at home the entire time and I either order food or my friends buy take away food for me when they go out.
- If you are living alone I highly recommend you to move somewhere with support during the first stage of your recovery process.
Pain and swelling
- At rest there is no pain, however when I move my fingers or my ankle joint it often get a sharp when across my mid foot region.
- My toes are still visibly swollen.
- I took anti inflammatory pills (Etoricoxib 90mg OD) whenever the pain or the swelling was intolerable.
- However I tried to keep the usage of anti inflammatory pills to a minimum since it might induce gastric irritation in the long run.
