Bit too much fun on the skateboard
It all started when I was in the park with my friends and some of them were skating. I felt like skating that day and decided to skate up and down the park when I suddenly lost balance and fell.
Mechanism of Injury
My foot facing downwards (plantar-flexed and inverted) and I felt my body's weight falling against it in a very awkward fashion. The next thing I know is I was on the floor in agony.
I felt tremendous pain in my right foot and I was unable to stand. My friends rushed to help me and I sat on a nearby bench. I took off my shoes to see a swollen red foot.
I got home by car thanks to my friends. I managed to go into my room and take a shower. I didn't think much of it at first and thought it was just a sprain and went to sleep. I woke up next day with no improvement. the pain (8/10) was extremely severe when I'm trying to walk/ put weight on it. I decided to give it another day to see if there was any improvement but there was none.
The following day I met one of my orthopaedic lecturers at his house. He took a look and deduced that there might be a fracture and that further x ray evaluation is necessary. He advised me to go to the emergency department which I later did.
