Unexpected help
Just when I was wondering what to do, I informed my university professor about my situation. Thankfully she helped me contact another more senior orthopaedic specialist for a second opinion. Photos of my x rays were sent to him and to my surprise and quite frankly to my relief he told me that it's okay to start walking.
My first attempt at walking after a month.
I took off my backslab and tried to put some weight on my right foot. To my surprise it wasn't as painful as before. I would give it a 3-4/10 pain score. However certain movements aggravated the pain, adding to the difficulty my atrophied muscles didn't have enough power to sustain my movements. I also felt an odd electric shock like sensation on my big toe whenever I place it on the floor.
Because of the above reasons I walked very little but I did walk with an antalgic gait.
I will be having a face to face visit with the new orthopedic specialist soon when he visits my state.
EDIT: I made a mistake, I was asked to walk with my cast on. I removed it because I wasn't able to clarify his advice. I hope this wouldn't affect my recovery.
